Tetaluz designs, produces and sells original lamps made in Argentina. Many of the lamps use elements of what may be called “industrial-style”, using different metals and glass. While we feel inspired by the lamps used in factories, workshops, offices and other locations in the early 20th century (and sometimes beyond), our aesthetic aspirations are to create lamps for contemporary use, simpler and lighter than their predecessors.
All lamps are hand-assembled. The lampshades are made by hand by trusted independent professionals. We use locally available – often recycled – materials and ourselves produce many of the dozens of original elements required for each lamp.
If you wonder about our name, you should know that teta or theta is the eighth letter of the greek alphabet and that “luz” in Spanish means light. All other interpretations of our name are also valid, of course.
The lamp designs are all original and have been conceived by the founders of Tetaluz, Fernando Onofrio and Utz Hoeser.
